Gulf Coast Medical Center is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Peri-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team in a unique Weekend-Only Night Shift opportunity!

This schedule is ideal for nurses looking for a consistent weekend commitment while keeping their weekdays open for family, personal time, school, or other priorities.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday
7:00 PM 7:30 AM

Plus, enjoy a $6/hour night shift differential for the entire shift!

As a PACU RN, youll care for patients as they recover from anesthesia and surgery, providing close monitoring, expert assessment, and compassionate care during an important phase of their recovery. Youll work alongside anesthesia, surgical, and perioperative teams in a collaborative environment where your clinical expertise truly matters.

Responsible for the safe delivery and documentation of patient care in a critical care area through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Performs responsibilities in five areas of nursing practice: clinician, teacher, researcher, leadership and professional development. Responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards subscribed to by the Association of Peri-Operative Registered Nurses and American Nurses Association, Florida Nurses Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act and other regulatory standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Uses knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through excellence in customer service and performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Must cover call as assigned. The nurse practice is guided by the code of ethics for nurses with interpretative statements.

Requirements

Education Requirements:Associates degree from accredited school of professional nursing required; Bachelors preferred.

Experience Requirements:Must have at least two (2) years of current PACU experience. Qualified individuals will successfully complete the competency assessment. Experience requirements may vary by department. Please reference the Nursing Addendums for department specific requirements.

Certification Requirements:Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date. For units that require American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date. Certification requirements may vary by department. Please reference the Nursing Addendums for department specific requirements.

License Requirements:Currently licensed in the State of Florida.

Other Requirements:Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required.
