Development & Training

Lee Health uses clinical coaches at each acute care facility. Development and training coaches support staff nurses in question practice, helping them build nursing evidence and experience. We are generating excitement around research questions and evidence-based practice, always encouraging our staff nurses to stay involved, engage in journal clubs, and participate in research projects across the System.

Clinical Practice Council

Composed of staff nurses across various specialties, the Clinical Practice Council works with nursing’s senior leadership, educators, and a multidisciplinary committee to make decisions affecting Lee Health nursing and overall direct patient care.

Our Commitment to the Community

At Lee Health, nurses are the heart of our organization—essential to delivering exceptional, compassionate, patient-centered care. We are deeply committed to strengthening shared governance, ensuring every nurse’s voice is heard, valued, and acted upon, and fostering leadership at every level. Our team is on an ongoing journey toward excellence and Magnet® recognition.

Across all of our hospitals—Cape Coral Hospital, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, Gulf Coast Medical Center, HealthPark Medical Center, and Lee Memorial Hospital—we are embedding the Magnet® principles into our daily practice, building on more than 107 years of outstanding nursing care at Lee Health.

Magnet® Recognition represents the gold standard in nursing—honoring organizations that exemplify excellence in professional practice, quality patient outcomes, and innovation in care.
