The Lee Health Administrative Fellowship Program

Woman giving seminar to group of administrators

The Lee Health Administrative Fellowship Program strives to cultivate master's level professionals into well-rounded leaders through focused mentoring, enduring relationships, and meaningful projects that further our organizational mission and match the fellow's interest. Our selection process aims for diverse skill sets, backgrounds, and experiences.

This 12-month structured rotation provides an opportunity to gain hands-on and in-depth understanding of hospital and health system administration, in a complex regional healthcare system. Two positions will be available each year.

Through this experience, the fellow will receive optimal mentoring, gain organization-wide exposure, and make strong, meaningful contributions to our health system through significant, real-world projects. This program will provide a foundational understanding of Lee health system through exploration, project assignment and participation in professional networking & development opportunities.

Fellowship Rotation & Exploration

Fellows will rotate through three administrative areas within the organization, and under the general supervision of Executive Sponsors, Preceptors and a Fellowship Advisor, will be responsible for completing projects, presentations, and other assignments. Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in strategic planning discussions and provide input to support issue resolution. Rotations throughout key areas of the system will give a road map of the departments and people driving our mission and offers an opportunity to get an in-depth overview of current projects underway, shadowing opportunities with department leaders, and networking opportunities.

Fellowship Projects

Following the completion of the elected rotations, the final months of the Administrative Fellowship will be dedicated to working on a project(s) that align with Lee Health’s strategic priorities, and with our vision; “To inspire hope and be the national leader for the advancement of health and healing.”

Fellowship Professional Development Opportunities

Professional development opportunities will include mentorship from the program preceptor, access to high-level executive leadership meetings and attendance at a Lee Health sponsored conference. A final capstone presentation will be made to system leaders at the conclusion of the fellowship. Program participants will gain experience operating within a dynamic health system that is nationally recognized for quality and dedicated to “elevating the human experience in health care”.
