Summary

HealthPark Medical Center is seeking an experienced Clinical Education Specialist with strong OB experience to support the ongoing education, professional development, and competency of our Womens Services team.

Responsible for advancing clinical excellence, nursing practice, and patient care outcomes across maternal services. This role provides system-wide clinical expertise and serves as an educator, consultant, and resource for nursing staff through orientation, mentoring, competency validation, ongoing education, and professional development initiatives. The specialist designs, implements, and evaluates evidence-based learning programs, policies, procedures, and performance improvement activities that promote quality, safety, regulatory compliance, staff competence, and standards of care. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support accreditation readiness, quality initiatives, clinical education programs, and organizational goals while fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence in patient care delivery. Serves as a key contributor to regulatory, accreditation, and designation surveys and reviews, leading preparedness efforts, facilitating staff readiness, demonstrating compliance with standards, and driving successful outcomes.

Desired Skillset

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards, including Joint Commission, CMS, DNV, state regulations, AWHONN, ACOG, Baby Friendly, Safe Sleep, and newborn care guidelines.
  • Ability to serve as the Maternal Services representative and active participant for all Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative (FPQC) initiatives, leading implementation, education, data review, and performance improvement efforts to advance maternal and newborn outcomes.
  • Partners with clinical informatics and operational leaders to design, evaluate, and implement Epic enhancements, workflow modifications, documentation optimization, clinical decision support tools, and order set updates supporting maternal and neonatal care delivery.
  • Strong competency in policy and procedure development, review, implementation, and staff education

Requirements

Education:Masters degree in nursing from a program that is nationally accredited required.

Experience:Demonstrated expertise in the practice of nursing validated by at least five years of clinical practice in area of specialty required.

Certification:Certification in specialty area within 6 months of hire, and maintained for term of employment

Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required upon hire and maintained for term of employment.

Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring issued by AWHONN within the past 2 years, if not Certified in Electronic Fetal Monitoring, required upon hire.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from American Academy of Pediatrics required within 90 days of hire and maintained for term of employment

License:Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Florida.

Other:Requires knowledge of outcomes management and demonstrated ability practicing outcomes management with a complex patient population. Requires ability to communicate, collaborate and consult effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team. Requires knowledge of current research methods. Requires ability to model excellence in clinical practice. Must demonstrate effective leadership skills and serve as a change agent, including the ability to mentor all members of the multi-disciplinary team. Requires knowledge of systems and the change process
