🌟 What Youll Do

As an Insurance Services Training Specialist, youll be the driving force behind training, onboarding, and continuous education for our Patient Access teams. Youll design and deliver impactful learning experiences while supporting both in-office and remote team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for:
    • New hires (onboarding & 90-day success plans)
    • Ongoing refresher courses
  • Train staff on:
    • Patient scheduling & pre-registration workflows
    • Insurance verification & eligibility
    • Authorization processes (including 3rd-party entities)
  • Serve as a mentor & navigator for new hires during their first 90 days
  • Conduct account audits to evaluate training effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities
  • Support Patient Access Representatives across outpatient registration sites
  • Act as the go-to resource for remote team members in hybrid roles
  • Assist with planning, testing, and implementation of new systems and workflows
  • Collaborate with leadership to enhance patient safety and revenue cycle performance

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of Medical Insurance & Patient Access experience
  • Strong knowledge of:

Is knowledgeable in-patient scheduling and pre-registration workflows with an extensive background in insurance companies third-party authorization entities. The specialist is responsible for curriculum development including designing all aspects of department training to include new-hire training sessions and refresher training sessions for all aspects of scheduling, insurance verification, and authorization processes within the Patient Access Center to include Outpatient Scheduling and Outpatient Insurance Services department. This role is responsible for utilizing the curriculum developed to educate new hires on all scheduling, pre-registration workflows, insurance benefits, eligibility, and obtaining authorizations. These specialists will act as a navigator to new team members during their 90-day introductory period ensuring that all new hires are provided a streamlined introduction and foundation within the department to ensure continued success. The specialist will continually lead efforts, through account auditing, to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the internal training program to improve patient safety and enhance revenue cycle functions. Additionally, this role is responsible for support training of Patient Access Representatives, specific to scheduling, insurance verification and authorization processes, for all outpatient registration sites that report to the Director Patient Access. This person will also be the first point of contact for the hybrid role of Insurance Services Specialist within Outpatient Insurance Services and Outpatient Scheduling answering questions and giving overall support to employees working remotely. This role will be involved in the planning and testing phases, as well as assist with department implementation of any new software or functionality provided by Lee Health.
