The Respiratory Care Educator ensures respiratory therapists receive the training, competency support, and professional development needed to deliver advanced, evidence-based care in critical care settings. This role leads education initiatives, competency assessments, and clinical support programs while partnering with respiratory leadership to address patient care, operational, and equipment-related challenges.
The educator also supports the integration of new respiratory technologies, collaborates with vendors, contributes to policy and protocol development, and participates in quality improvement initiatives. Through mentorship and performance support, this role promotes clinical excellence, staff growth, and optimal patient outcomes.

The Respiratory Care Educator Critical Care is responsible for ensuring respiratory therapists in critical care settings receive the necessary training and support to maintain competency in advanced respiratory care. This includes developing and delivering education, conducting competency assessments, and assisting with staff development.
In addition to education, the educator works with respiratory leadership to address clinical and operational challenges. This includes troubleshooting patient care and equipment-related issues, ensuring proper use and integration of respiratory technology, and collaborating with vendors to procure and implement new equipment.
The role also involves contributing to policy and protocol development, ensuring that respiratory care practices align with current standards and evidence-based practice. The educator participates in performance improvement initiatives and assists with performance management plans as needed to support the professional growth and effectiveness of the respiratory care team.
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree required. Master of Science preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of Critical Care experience required.
Certification: Current ACLS and BLS required. Current RRT-ACCS granted by The National Board of Respiratory Care.
License: Registered Respiratory Therapist Licensed by the State of Florida Department of Health.
Other: Demonstrates commitment to learning and evidence-based practice. Current membership in community/professional/academic organizations desirable. Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office. Multidisciplinary communication skills.
