Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$20.50 - $24.09 / hour
This is a multifunctional CNA Advanced role primarily supporting PACU and Phase II, with PreOp coverage about one day per week as staffing allows. The position is fastpaced and physically active, supporting patient flow due to the elimination of 8hour shifts.
The CNA assists nurses across all areas with patient mobility, transport, vitals, pre and postop care, discharge support, stocking supplies, and basic procedures within scope (e.g., EKGs, IV removal, prep tasks).
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, hardworking, able to work independently, comfortable with being on their feet most of the shift, and brings an energetic, proactive, and positive attitude with minimal downtime.Overall, a team player who is always seeking ways to help those around them. Hospital or surgery center experience strongly preferred.
Provides patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health, social needs, comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition and fluid and elimination needs. May have access to and transport non-controlled medications as directed.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of a State Approved, CNA Education Program required (with at least 120 hours of academic studies and clinical training; 165 hours preferred in Acute Care).
Experience: Previous CNA work experience preferred; or new graduate CNA with clinical training.
Certification: Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date.
License: Current Florida CNA Certification; or a CNA certification active in another state which is transferrable to obtain Florida certification under reciprocity.
Other: Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology.
