This role is deeply meaningful but emotionally demanding. You will work closely with children undergoing cancer treatment and their families, many of whom visit the center regularly and rely on familiar, steady caregivers. While the MondayFriday schedule is consistent, the emotional weight of caring for pediatric oncology patients is significant. The right person finds purpose in long-term relationships, can stay calm during difficult moments, and is committed to being a stable presence for families who are going through some of the hardest experiences of their lives.
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Outpatient Center. This is a unique, highly specialized role caring for children with cancer and blood disorders in a calm, structured outpatient environment. The best qualified candidates ideally have hospital based, or an oncology background and/or experience working in a pediatric medical office.

Welcome and check in patients for clinic visits and infusion appointments
Obtain height, weight, and vital signs, including vitals during chemotherapy and blood product infusions
Prepare, clean, and turn over patient rooms between visits
Pick up chemotherapy from the pharmacy
Transport lab specimens to HealthPark
Assist nurses with holding and comforting children during IV starts and blood draws
Support a small, collaborative team dedicated to providing exceptional, family-centered care
Provides patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health, social needs, comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition and fluid and elimination needs. May have access to and transport non-controlled medications as directed.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of a State Approved, CNA Education Program required (with at least 120 hours of academic studies and clinical training; 165 hours preferred in Acute Care).
Experience: Previous CNA work experience preferred; or new graduate CNA with clinical training.
Certification: Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date.
License: Current Florida CNA Certification; or a CNA certification active in another state which is transferrable to obtain Florida certification under reciprocity.
Other: Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and customer service skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology.
