The Healthy Start Program Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating care within the Lee Health Healthy Start program in accordance with Lee Health policy and Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines prescribed by the Florida Department of Health and the Healthy Start Coalition of Southwest Florida, Inc. The Manager actively participates in Lee Health organizational and Healthy Start Coalition leadership functions and collaborates with external entities/agencies within the service area. The Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent performance standards and success of the Lee Health Healthy Start Program. He/she serves as a staff liaison on the Healthy Start Advisory Board in Lee County.
Healthy Start (HS) is a program designed to support pregnant women and infants in Lee County. The goal is to prevent pre-term birth through education and empowerment of clients and is delivered via a home visiting model of care. Clients are screened for risks at specific time points and provided health related education. The Healthy Start program is offered to clients in need free of charge. The HS program utilizes nurses, social workers and community health care workers to deliver services to contractually defined populations.
Education:Masters Degree in a health-related field such as health education, health planning, social work, or health care administration or graduate of an accredited school of nursing with masters degree in nursing required.
Experience:Minimum of 3 years experience in Public Health/ Maternal Child Health required. Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
Certification: N/A
License: Current Licensure as an RN in the State of Florida if nursing degree.
Other: Knowledge of current approaches to the delivery of care. Knowledge of Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines. Ability to participate in developing and implementing organizational strategies to improve the delivery of care. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates knowledge of finances to manage and maintain budgets in defined areas of responsibility.
