Lee Health is hiring for a Manager of Compliance for Post Acute Services. This position has a hybrid schedule with two remote days and three in office days. You will work with direct reports as well as conduct audits and investigations. This role requires an active RN license. Coding Certification is a plus!

The Compliance Manager Post-acute Services, works to prevent and detect compliance risk by identifying/analyzing risk, and planning/implementing key compliance initiatives related to coding/documentation/billing improvement within the Lee Health organization. The Manager contributes to the development of an annual Lee Health Compliance risk assessment and coordinates auditing & monitoring of the annual Lee Health Compliance facility audit work plan; supervises and evaluates work performed by Compliance Analysts, and facilitates communication of audit findings; provides regulatory guidance relating to facility documentation, coding, and billing concepts to administrators, providers and operational staff; actively engages with operational management personnel to develop corrective action plans as necessary for process improvement; and performs/oversees compliance audits and investigations of alleged misconduct in the acute, outpatient, and post-acute settings, some under attorney-client privilege. The Manager facilitates a positive work environment and develops staff projects with an emphasis on team building, assuring that audit activity is evidenced-based, mission-driven, and aligned with lean principles.
Education: Bachelors required; Masters degree in Nursing, Management, Business Administration, or Legal studies preferred.
Experience: 3 years experience in clinical nursing required. 3 years experience in compliance and/or healthcare regulatory function preferred.
Certification: CCA or CCS (Certified Medical Coder) within six (6) months of hire. Compliance certification (CHC) required within one (1) year of hire.
License: Active Florida Registered Nurse license
Other: Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others at any level of leadership. Possess appropriate, professional judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, in addition to excellent report writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Possess resilience and flexibility to perform a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced (internal and external) environment of growth and change. Extensive knowledge of various compliance rules and regulations in the medical coding, billing, and reimbursement areas. Extensive knowledge of the various documentation, coding, and billing concepts including ICD-10, CPT/ HCPCS, and DRG/APC. Extensive knowledge of electronic medical record (EPIC) for review of compliance with medical documentation, coding, billing, and reimbursement. Ability to participate with upper management in a decision support role through the development of appropriate management information. Ability to effectively coordinate the activities of outside consultants, at times under the attorney-client privilege and work product doctrine. Ability to supervise and lead teams toward the accomplishment of goals. Possess skill in using Microsoft office products for analysis and report generation.
