What Youll Do

The LPG Referral Facilitator is a highly motivated person who exemplifies great communication skills, multi-tasking skills, flexibility skills, has a teamwork attitude to ensure that we are meeting patients needs, and is adaptable to shifting priorities. While also maintaining proficiency in all duties of a Referral Coordinator, the Facilitator will act as a collaborator and supporter to achieve the departments goals and KPIs. The Facilitator must maintain an exceptional quality of customer service and scores/error rates.

This job facilitates the scheduling process by entering non-epic physician referral orders, and medical records, into our electronic health record system. The Facilitator will be responsible for scanning the referral and medical records, so that it is accessible by ancillary staff. In addition, this job requires to have a working knowledge of referrals, In Basket messages, scheduling, and customer service to effectively communicate to the patients, offices, and physicians about the referrals if necessary.

This position takes multi-tasking to a new level and requires flexibility, as job duties change quickly. Since the responsibilities of the Facilitator are closely linked with those of the Referral Coordinators, effective communication and fostering a team environment are essential components of this role.

The position skill set requires that you have all the knowledge of a Patient Access Specialist II (Please refer to the Patient Access Specialist II position job functions that are listed under the essential job functions section of this job description). One must maintain all those proficiencies and will continue to achieve exceptional quality scores/error rate. In addition, this person must be crossed trained in all service lines of the department.

Requirements

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum of 1 years healthcare/scheduling experience, with 6 months of Epic experience required. Minimum of 1 years experience in a customer relations role.

License: None

Other: Medical terminology knowledge - preferred Knowledge and understanding of telephone etiquette including strong listening skills are essential. Excellent customer service, including verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to communicate with other departments effectively, precisely and clearly, physician practices, staff and providers. Data entry skills and good computer skills are required including knowledge of Microsoft Office. Proficiency in EPIC and Cadence - preferred Bilingual with the ability to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently, a plus
