Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$21.15 - $27.49 / hour

Summary

Under the supervisor of the Director of Public Safety Technology, or their designee, the Public Safety Device Technician is a customer facing position that provides support to the organizations endpoint user environment. Device technicians are responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all Public Safety technology hardware and software to ensure optimal performance. Current operating systems include but are not limited to, video management (currently Genetec), electronic access control (currently Genetec), and Infant Protection systems (currently Stanley Hugs). Device technicians are responsible for resolving incidents and tasks using ServiceNow. Additionally, the Device Technician troubleshoots problems and resolves issues in accordance with existing and future master service agreements between Lee Health and technology vendors and in alignment with system policies and procedures. The Public Safety Device Technician provides assistance to onsite and remote end-users in an attempt to troubleshoot issues and correct system or device deficiencies The Device Technician is an essential staff member and is required to respond during emergency and crisis events.

Requirements

Educational Requirements
Required:

  • High school or equivalent (GED)

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree

Additional Requirements:

May accept 3+ years of experience in lieu of education.

Experience
Required:
  • None
Preferred:
  • 2+ years of Information Technology related work providing access control, video systems maintenance, and installation of CCTV devices
  • Reading and understanding floor plans, diagrams, and system schematics
  • Understanding and maintaining low voltage alarm, CCTV, and access control systems
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office, Project and Visio
State of Florida Licensure Requirements
Required:
  • Valid Florida driver's license within30 daysof employment
Additional Requirements:
  • All licenses must be current and active at all times
Certifications/Registration Requirements
Preferred:
  • Low Voltage certification
  • Genetec Security Center Omnicast Technical Certification
  • Genetec Security Center Synergis Technical Certification
  • Genetec Security Center AutoVu Technical Certification
