The Gulf Coast Medical Center Acute Rehabilitation Therapy Department is actively seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our talented Acute Care Therapy Team. Gulf Coast Medical Center is a Level II Trauma Center, an accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center, and dedicates specialized care to our Critical Care, Oncology, Orthopedic, Colorectal, Vascular and General Surgery service lines.
We are looking for clinicians dedicated to providing high-quality comprehensive care for our specialty services lines and who are interested in promoting the growth and development of our Acute Care Therapy Services by collaborating in our unique patient care programs including our Animal Assisted Therapy, Early Activity Initiative, Why Not Home and In House Rehabilitation Programs.

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) you will provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist (PT). PTAs implement selected components of patient/client interventions and obtain data related to that intervention; make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the Physical Therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort; educate and interact with Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant students, technicians, volunteers, patients/clients families, caregivers; and respond to patient/client and environmental emergency situations. The PTA is expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. The attributes, characteristics or behaviors required for success in this job include: critical thinking, communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, responsibility, professionalism, use of constructive feedback, effective use of time and resources, stress management, and commitment to learning.
Educational Requirements:Associates Physical Therapist Assistant ;Eligible Lee Health candidates are required to graduate from an accredited program. The accepted accrediting body required for Lee Health's Rehabilitation Professionals is the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
