Lead Public Safety Dispatcher

Performs as an integral part of the safety and security operations of Lee Health. This role is directly responsible for conveying critical, timely, and accurate information to all pertinent parties. The work is performed in a call center environment and involves call-taking and dispatching of emergency and non-emergency calls. Handles a large volume of incoming emergency and non-emergency telephone calls from the public, Lee Health Employees, as well as dispatch security officers to calls for service. Demonstrates and promotes Exceptional Lee principles. Directs daily activities of the Public Safety dispatch personnel as assigned and coordinates those activities with other departments and agencies as needed. Assumes responsibilities of the supervisor during his/her absence. Functions as a senior Public Safety Officer when the supervisor is present. Follows broad instructions and operates within the guidelines of System policies plus applicable local, state, and federal laws in carrying out those duties.
