Summary

Lee Health is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Financial Counselor to join our Central Business Office team. This role provides critical administrative support to Lee Physician Group and Home Health departments, ensuring timely and accurate handling of documents and communications related to patient accounts and insurance processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Print patient account information and prepare medical record packets for submission to insurance companies. Open and sort incoming insurance and patient mail from post offices and hospital facilities. Review and classify documents to ensure proper workflow routing. Prepare documents by verifying required fields and batching for processing. Sort, distribute, and mail UB04 and 1500 claim forms daily to appropriate insurance providers. Process and mail refund check documentation. Batch and scan paper checks for daily bank deposits

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required

Proficiency with computers and ability to type at least 30 words per minute Strong attention to detail with the ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness Excellent communication skills and a professional, friendly demeanor Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and adapt to a high-volume, fast-paced environment

*** Prior healthcare or medical office experience is a plus, but not required

Requirements

Education:High School diploma or equivalent required. Post high school training or associate degree preferred.

Experience:Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer relations role required. Epic experience preferred. Minimum of 1 year healthcare revenue cycle experience preferred.

Other:Medical terminology knowledge desired. Excellent computer skills. Ability to speak multiple languages is helpful. Knowledge and understanding of telephone etiquette including strong listening skills are essential. Excellent customer service skills are also required, including verbal and written communication.
