Responsible for providing an excellent customer experience while assisting the patient and the care team in an outpatient practice. The COMT is responsible for performing patient work-ups, refracting, and clinical testing of our patients. These tests include Humphrey visual field testing, Zeiss OCT, Fundus Photography, Corneal Topography, and Specular Microscopy. The COMT is responsible for handling and administering ophthalmic solutions according to regulatory standards and organizational policy and procedure. This position is responsible for the collection, communication and documentation of accurate patient information/data and maintaining medical records according to regulatory standards and organizational policies and procedures. The COMT addresses patient questions/concerns with information as directed by the provider. The COMT provides education and training to the clinical team that is relevant to the needs of the department. The COMT acts as a resource for the departments clinical team. The COMT will exhibit critical thinking and problem solving skills, while serving as clinician, teacher, researcher, and team leader.
