Summary

"Performs high quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in accordance to the policies and procedures that are provided by the Lee Health cardiovascular department. A Level 3 (primary vascular) sonographer must specialize in non-invasive vascular testing. Cardiovascular Career Ladder is used for determining sonographer level. A Level 3 Sonographers skills includes proficient in carotid duplex, upper and lower extremity venous studies, upper and lower extremity arterial bypass graft duplex, upper and lower extremity non-imaging arterial studies, upper and lower arterial duplex, pseudo aneurysm evaluations, abdominal aorta duplex, mesenteric and renal arterial duplex. The position requires varied shifts including weekend rotations and ""on call"" rotation as determined per specific department needs including holidays, weekends, and evenings. Portable exams are done based on patient need. Demonstrate flexibility in learning all equipment. Have an understanding of sterile procedures, isolation precaution techniques, infectious hazardous materials, sharp instruments, and defibrillator equipment."

Graduate from a cardiovascular technology program or diagnostic medical ultrasound program. Extensive experience may substitute training.
