Urology Hospitalist Opportunity

A focused hospital-based urology role with no outpatient clinic obligations

Inpatient Service Only| No Outpatient Clinic | Location: Southwest Florida

For the urologist who wants to stay clinically sharp, remain procedurally active, and avoid outpatient panel management, Lee Health offers a distinctive hospital-based opportunity at Gulf Coast Medical Center. This role is designed for physicians seeking meaningful acute urology, strong team support, and a focused weekday practice model.

Lee Health is recruiting a board-certified or board-eligible urologist to provide dedicated inpatient urologic care within a major regional health system. This position combines hospital resources, surgical collaboration, and a predictable weekday schedule, enabling the physician to focus on what matters most: evaluating, treating, and intervening for hospitalized patients.

What Makes This Opportunity Different

No outpatient clinic: Freedom from office panel management, routine follow-up visits, and pressure from clinic templates.

Focused inpatient role: Direct impact through consultations, rounds, and care coordination for hospitalized patients.

Procedural involvement: Hands-on practice that may include cystoscopy, ureteral stent placement, ureteroscopy, clot evacuation, and other urgent procedures.

Hospital resources: Level II Trauma Center practice with timely access to the operating room and procedural capacity.

Integrated support: Three inpatient APPs, Epic EHR, and close collaboration with hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and surgical teams.

Additional earning potential: Optional shifts for physicians who want them.

The Practice

In the hospital, the urology hospitalist serves as a dedicated resource for timely urologic evaluation and treatment, supported by three inpatient APPs. The work centers on consultations, inpatient rounding, specialty coordination, and operative or procedural management when intervention is neededkeeping the physician focused on clinical judgment, patient care, and procedures rather than clinic administration.
