At Lee Health, your expertise can directly support the delivery of safe, accurate, high-quality patient care. Were seeking a Point of Care Testing (POCT) Technologist to help lead and support our Point of Care Testing program across the health system.
In this role, youll work closely with the Laboratory Compliance/POCT Manager to oversee testing operations, maintain regulatory compliance, support clinical teams, and ensure point-of-care testing is performed accurately and efficiently. Youll also serve as a trusted resource and educator for nursing and laboratory staff.
What Youll Do
- Support the development, oversight, and monitoring of Lee Healths Point of Care Testing (POCT) program.
- Perform POCT, quality control, calibrations, and function checks accurately and efficiently.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot POCT and assigned laboratory equipment.
- Ensure testing practices meet applicable state, federal, and regulatory requirements.
- Train and educate nursing and laboratory staff on point-of-care testing procedures and equipment.
- Serve as a subject-matter resource for POCT, laboratory, and safety standards.
- Investigate and resolve testing, equipment, and safety issues.
- Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, research, and development of new procedures.
- Maintain and update POCT and Safety Manuals for assigned locations.
- Partner with nurses, physicians, laboratory professionals, and other Lee Health teams to promote excellent patient care.
- Provide exceptional customer service and clear, effective communication throughout the organization.
What Youll Bring
Education
- Three or four years of formal education or training beyond high school or a bachelors degree.
- Successful completion of an accredited clinical laboratory technologist training program meeting the requirements of the Florida Department of Health, Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel.
Experience
- At least 3 years of recent clinical laboratory experience.
Licensure
- Clinical Laboratory Technologist (TN) or Clinical Laboratory Supervisor (SU) license required.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- General computer proficiency.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to troubleshoot, educate, collaborate, and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
