Cape Coral Hospital is seeking a customer-focused and organized Patient Care Liaisonto support our 4W Orthopedic & General Surgery team. This role serves as a key liaison between patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff while helping ensure smooth daily operations within the nursing unit.
Important Scheduling Information
This is a PRN (as-needed) position and is not eligible for benefits. Team members in this role must maintain scheduling flexibility and be available to work:
- Weekdays
- Weekends
- Some holidays
- Day shifts as needed by the department
PRN team members are scheduled based on department and patient care needs and are not guaranteed a set number of hours.
Position Summary
The Unit Support Representative serves as a liaison between patients, families, hospital staff, and physicians to promote a positive patient experience and support efficient unit operations. This position performs a variety of clerical and administrative functions while helping coordinate communication and workflow within the nursing unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist patients, families, visitors, and healthcare team members.
- Serve as a communication hub between patients, physicians, nurses, and other departments.
- Support coordination of unit activities and patient flow.
- Perform clerical and administrative duties, including data entry, record maintenance, and communication management.
- Provide timely and accurate information to appropriate personnel.
- Identify and escalate concerns while assisting with problem resolution.
- Promote a positive patient experience through professional and compassionate service.
- Support the nursing team in delivering quality patient care.
Qualifications
Education
- No high school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- No previous experience required.
Licensure & Certifications
- No Florida licensure required.
- No certifications required.
