Vascular Sonographer Responsibilities:
- Performs high-quality diagnostic vascular ultrasound procedures fixed and mobile according to the policy and procedures that are provided by the cardiovascular department.
- A Level 2 (primary vascular) sonographer must be specialized in vascular ultrasound testing with a valid vascular registry and currently practicing independently.
- Assist the providers with designated diagnostic exams. Interacts with medical staff and other outside entities regarding ultrasound matters.
- Must be proficient in vascular exams to include but not limited to carotid, venous, arterial, abdominal visceral, hemodialysis duplex, and physiological exams.
- Assists vascular surgeons in EVLT procedures.
- May transport non-narcotic medications as directed. Works positively with all customers to promote patient, employee, and physician satisfaction.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Participate in staff/student orientation training.
Requirements
Education:Graduated from accredited or ARRT approved ultrasound program.
Experience:2 years vascular ultrasound experience required. General computer skills as needed.
Certification:BLS (American Heart Association/Basic Life Support) required. Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Vascular Technology (RVT) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Vascular Ultrasound (RVS).
