Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$20.00 - $23.50 / hour

The Pediatric Emergency Department is seeking a candidate with a strong clerical background for the Patient Care Liaison (PCL) role. This position supports daily nursing unit operations by serving as a key communication and coordination resource for medical staff, patients, and families. The ideal internal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a consistent focus on patient and family experience.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

Communication

• Communicates clearly, calmly, and professionally with medical staff and parents
• Demonstrates strong active listening skills and appropriate phone and in-person etiquette
• Maintains a patient- and family-centered approach at all times
• Utilizes conflict resolution skills to address questions or concerns effectively

Organization & Multitasking

• Manages multiple priorities simultaneously, including phone calls and requests from medical staff
• Handles frequent interruptions while ensuring departmental needs are met in a timely manner
• Maintains professionalism and composure in high-pressure situations
• Uses computers and electronic health record systems appropriately
• Performs a variety of clerical and non-clerical duties in support of nursing unit operations

Experience Requirements

• Experience in one or more of the following settings:
• Healthcare administration/clerical role
• Medical office
• Hospital environment

Preferred Experience Includes:

• Medical Receptionist
• Unit Secretary
• Patient Access Representative
