Summary

The primary role of the Activity Coordinator is to support the Guest Services Department and Guest Services Management for Lee Health. This position coordinates guest services across multiple departments and service lines in the Emergency Department, Acute and Post-Acute care hospitals. Consults with staff, physicians and leadership on innovative approaches to providing an excellent patient experience and advocating patient rights. Interacts with patients and customers to facilitate and resolve any concerns/complaints related to services rendered which includes daily rounding. Office duties include filing, record keeping, data entry and all documentation in accordance with the guest services policies and procedures. Promotes a guest first culture through role modeling outstanding customer service skills and attitude.

Requirements

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years experience in customer service role. At least 1 year of experience in a Healthcare setting.

Certification/License (For SNU Location Only): Must meet F-Tag 680 requirements as a Qualified Activity Professional. Candidate must meet ONE of the following four criteria:

  • Is a licensed or registered Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or a certified Activity Professional (ADC);
  • Is eligible for certification as an activity professional by a recognized accrediting body (such as NCCAP);
  • Has two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting;
  • Is a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA).

Other: Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well to others in stressful situations. Knowledge of and the ability to use basic office software, computers and office equipment.
