The CDM (Charge Description Master) Governance Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, oversight, and continuous improvement of the organizations CDM governance program. This role ensures the integrity, compliance, and optimization of the CDM across the health system to support accurate revenue capture, regulatory adherence, and operational efficiency. The Director partners with clinical, financial, and operational leaders and oversees processes that keep the CDM current, standardized, and aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Education: Bachelors degree in healthcare administration, Health Information Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required. Eight (8) years of progressively responsible healthcare Revenue Cycle experience, including at least three (3) years in a leadership role with direct responsibility for CDM governance, charge capture strategy, charging compliance, and Revenue Integrity initiatives across both Hospital Billing (HB) and Professional Billing (PB) operations may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years Demonstrated leadership in CDM governance or revenue integrity programs in a large healthcare environment required. Demonstrated expertise in regulatory requirements, charge master management, charging workflow design, and revenue optimization is required. Demonstrated proficiency of data analysis, root cause analysis and charging compliance, communication, and project management skills required.
Certification: Minimum one coding certification (listed below) required.
