About This Position:

Lee Memorial Hospital is a 290-bed acute care facility and the original cornerstone of Lee Health. A nationally recognized, nonprofit hospital, it provides comprehensive emergency, medical, and surgical services and holds designation as a Primary Stroke Center as well as a DNV-accredited Orthopedic Center of Excellence. Speech Language Pathologists at Lee Memorial Hospital are highly integrated within ICU populations and play a key role in complex medical-surgical care, including ENT and neurosurgery cases, with early post-operative involvement such as ACDF patients. Clinicians benefit from early access to VFSS/MBSS and FEES within a robust FEES training framework, supporting advanced diagnostic and instrumental assessment opportunities. SLPs also have the autonomy to initiate therapy orders when clinically indicated, enabling timely intervention and patient-centered decision-making. The hospital is supported by a highly skilled, collaborative SLP team with a strong mentorship culture, along with opportunities for student supervision, clinician development, and participation in system-wide continuing education initiatives. Looking ahead, in 2028 LMH will transition services to the newly opened Lee Health Fort Myers campus, which will serve as a hub for the Musculoskeletal Institute, featuring state-of-the-art technologies and advanced equipment to further enhance orthopedic and rehabilitative care.

In this role you will be responsible for providing screening, evaluation, treatment, and education for those who demonstrate impairments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and/or swallowing. The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for adherence to and compliance with all American Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA) professional standards. The SLP is engaged in administration, consultation, education and research. The SLP is expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. The attributes, characteristics or behaviors required for success in this job include: critical thinking, communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, responsibility, professionalism, use of constructive feedback, effective use of time and resources, stress management, and commitment to learning.

About our Rehabilitation Team:

Our Rehabilitation Services team is one of the largest and most dynamic in the region. With over 700 skilled professionals dedicated to helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence through comprehensive, compassionate care. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists work closely with medical teams to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patients unique needs. Beyond core therapy services, we offer a variety of specialty programs including neurological rehabilitation, vestibular and balance therapy, lymphedema management, pelvic health therapy, and oncology rehabilitation. With services spanning acute care, skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient settings, our team delivers exceptional, evidence-based care that restores function and enhances quality of life.

What This Position Requires:

Education: Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Experience: Certificate of Clinical Competency.

Certification: BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support).

License:Active Florida State Speech Language Pathologist Licensure.
