Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$50.50 - $68.19 / hour
Serves as an in-house registered lobbyist who represents Lee Health System before elected officials and government bodies at the local and state levels of government. Primary responsibility is to maintain strong professional relations with elected officials and their staff. Demonstrates the highest levels of written and verbal communication and persuasion skills to advocate for Lee Health positions, educate others to value, and support the health system. Assists in efforts to secure local and state grant projects, working with Lee Health grant writing staff. Coordinates Lee Health participation on special community committees. Manages program directives of the Chief of Staff and senior-level government relations staff to completion. Reports to the Chief of Staff and the Director of Government Relations. Assists the Director of Government Relations in leading the Program Manager and external government relations contractors.
Education: Bachelors degree in public administration, Health Care Administration, Political Science, Communications, or another relevant Public Policy area required. Master's Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Government Relations/ Public Policy required. Minimum 4 years of increasing relevant experience, including public policy analysis/development, legislative procedures, coalition building, working with advocacy organizations, managing an elected officials office, or managing political campaigns. Experience working with physicians and hospital administrators preferred.
Certification: Obtain a State of Florida Lobbyist Annual Registration within 30 days of hire. Obtain local government lobbyist registrations where required within 30 days of hire.
