High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years of recent healthcare experience, preferably in patient registration, insurance verification, revenue cycle, or a related healthcare setting
Experience verifying insurance eligibility and benefits
Experience obtaining insurance authorizations
Medical billing and claims processing knowledge
Claims status review and insurance follow-up
Denial management and resolution experience
Infusion billing and reimbursement knowledge
Understanding of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid insurance plans
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Strong understanding of healthcare insurance and reimbursement processes
Skilled at resolving payer issues and navigating complex insurance requirements
Able to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy
A collaborative team player with exceptional communication skills
Passionate about supporting patient access to care

Acts as a lead resource for ER Financial Counselors. Coordinates duties to ensure completion/prioritization of function. Performs registration and financial screening of patients to ensure maximum reimbursement for the Health System. Performs QA review of accounts and serves as a trainer and mentor for the Registration staff.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent experience, preferably in a registration setting with medical/insurance knowledge.

Other: Communication, customer service and interpersonal skills required. Must be multi-task oriented with excellent critical thinking skills and possess the ability to appropriately handle complexity and stress within the changing needs of the patients families and the Health System. General computer and data entry skills. Ability to problem solve, trouble shoot and operate office equipment (phone, fax, and copier). Familiar with Medical terminology.
