About This Position:
As an Oncology Rehabilitation Navigator (ORN), you will collaborate with the multidisciplinary oncology team including but not limited to medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, physicians, mid-level providers, nurse navigators, dietitians, LCSWs, rehab clinicians, and other oncology healthcare providers as well as community liaisons involved in cancer care. The ORN is responsible for screening and identifying impairments, functional limitations and conditions related to cancer and its treatments. The ORN serves as a point of contact for referring medical providers, patients and caregivers to provide resources and assistance with accessing clinical and supportive care services. The ORN is a resource for cancer rehabilitation therapists for guidance and educational support. The ORN is engaged in administration, consultation, education and research. The ORN also provides direct rehabilitation patient care in the area of their professional discipline. The ORN is expected to conduct themselves in an effective, professional manner. The attributes, characteristics or behaviors required for success in this job include critical thinking, articulate communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, responsibility, professionalism, use of constructive feedback, effective use of time and resources, stress management, empathy and commitment to learning.
About our Rehabilitation Team:
Our Rehabilitation Services team is one of the largest and most dynamic in the region. With over 700 skilled professionals dedicated to helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence through comprehensive, compassionate care. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists work closely with medical teams to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patients unique needs. Beyond core therapy services, we offer a variety of specialty programs including neurological rehabilitation, vestibular and balance therapy, lymphedema management, pelvic health therapy, and oncology rehabilitation. With services spanning acute care, skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient settings, our team delivers exceptional, evidence-based care that restores function and enhances quality of life.
What This Position Requires:
Education:Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy, bachelors or masters degree in occupational therapy, or masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
Experience:Experience and interest in treating Oncology related impairments.
Certification: BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support) required.
License: PT, OT, or SLP Florida license required.
Other: Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Completion of CEUs related to cancer rehab in last licensure term. May be required to rotate to treatment areas, other than their primary designation, as requested by their department leader.
