What Youll Do

• Welcome patients and help create a positive, comfortable care experience.

• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers with minor procedures.

• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and laboratory specimen processing.

• Obtain, document, and communicate accurate patient information.

• Administer medications under the direct supervision of a physician or physician assistant and in accordance with applicable regulations and organizational policies.

• Provide patient instructions and support follow-up care.

• Maintain medical records and prepare patient care areas.

• Coordinate prescription requests, information requests, and other clinical support activities.

• Operate medical equipment safely while following patient safety standards and established procedures.

What Youll Bring

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred.

Experience

• Medical Assistant experience is preferred but not required for graduates of an accredited medical assisting program within the past two years.

• One year of recent clinical experience within the last four years in a physicians office or hospital outpatient department may be accepted in place of an accredited medical assisting credential.

Certifications

• CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification preferred.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required within the first 90 days of hire.

Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Basic computer proficiency.

• A commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and excellent customer service.
