Set Rate: $26.82 per hour | PRN | Variable Weekdays & Every Other Weekend

Join Lee Healths Lee Convenient Care team as a PRN Medical Assistant! We are seeking dependable, experienced Medical Assistants who are comfortable working in a fast-paced urgent care environment and traveling between multiple locations to support patient care needs.

Pay Rate: $26.82 per hour (set PRN rate)

Schedule & Availability

• PRN position working approximately 23 shifts per week from October through May, based on operational needs.

• Must be available to work variable weekdays and every other weekend, including both Saturday and Sunday.

• Shifts may be up to 12 hours, depending on the assigned location.

• Bonita Health Center operates 10-hour shifts; all other Lee Convenient Care locations operate 12-hour shifts.

• Must be flexible to travel and provide coverage at all listed locations.

Required Qualifications Must Meet One of the Following:

1. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program within the last two years, with no prior Medical Assistant experience.

2. Hold an active Medical Assistant certification through one of the following:

   • CMA American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

   • CCMA National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

   • RMA American Medical Technologists (AMT)

3. Have at least one year of Medical Assistant experience within the last four years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience, preferably in urgent care, outpatient, or other fast-paced clinical settings.

• Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical teams and locations.

• Strong patient service, communication, and teamwork skills.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing an excellent customer experience in a team based environment while assisting in all aspects of medical practice under the direct supervision and responsibility of a physician or physician assistant. This position is responsible for patient safety, performing phlebotomy, point of care testing, assisting in minor procedures, processing lab specimens, safe operation of medical equipment, provides patient instructions, and for handling and administering medications according to regulatory standards and organizational policy and procedure under the direct supervision of a physician or physician assistant. This position is responsible for the collection, communication and documentation of accurate patient information/data and maintaining medical records according to regulatory standards and organizational policies and procedures. Other responsibilities include coordinating requests for information and prescriptions, maintain and preparing patient care areas to ensure efficient, effective and safe patient care delivery. Late hours, holidays and weekends may be required. Other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor of the department.

Requirements

Education:High School Diploma or GED Required. Completion of a medical assisting program or accredited post- secondary medical assisting program that prepares the Medical Assistant to take the national CMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), CCMA (National Healthcareer Association), or RMA (American Medical Technologists) exam is preferred.

Experience:Medical Assistant experience preferred but not required for graduates who have completed an accredited medical assisting program within the past two years. One year of recent clinical experience (within the last four years) in a physicians office or hospital outpatient department may be accepted in lieu of a degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited medical assisting program.

Certification:CMA (American Association of Medical Assisting), CCMA (National Health career Association), RMA (American Medical Technologists) preferred. BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support) required and must be obtained within first 90 days of hire.

License: Not Required

Other: Medical terminology, communication skills and basic knowledge of computers required. Early/late hours and/or weekends may be required.
