Lee Health is seeking a compassionate, adaptable, and clinically confident Medical Assistant Pediatrics Primary Care Multi-Site Float to support pediatric primary care practices across Southwest Florida.

Instead of being assigned to just one office, youll have the opportunity to work alongside different pediatric teams, experience a variety of practice environments, and care for children and families across the Lee Health network.

Your Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week
  • 4x10 schedule
  • Shifts may fall on weekdays and/or weekends, based on operational and clinic needs
  • Schedule and work location are variable and may change based on where coverage is needed

The 4x10 schedule can provide the opportunity for three days away from work each week, while giving you exposure to multiple pediatric practices.

Important: Flexibility is essential. This position requires the ability to travel between assigned pediatric locations and work varying weekdays and weekends based on business needs.

Your daily location will vary based on operational needs. Candidates should be comfortable traveling throughout the assigned pediatric primary care network.


What You'll Do

As a Pediatric Medical Assistant, you'll play an important role in creating a positive experience for both our young patients and their families.

You'll:

  • Welcome and room pediatric patients with warmth and professionalism
  • Obtain vital signs and accurately document patient information
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits
  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed
  • Perform clinical procedures within your scope of practice
  • Document care accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Assist with referrals, follow-up appointments, and care coordination
  • Communicate effectively with pediatric patients, parents, and caregivers
  • Help create a safe, clean, efficient, and welcoming clinical environment
  • Adapt quickly to different providers, teams, workflows, and practice locations
  • Step in where needed to support exceptional patient care

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program within the last 2 years, OR
  • Current Medical Assistant certification: CMA (AAMA), CCMA (NHA), or RMA (AMT), OR
  • At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience within the last 4 years

Compensation & Additional Incentives

Pay Range: $21.54 $25.31 per hour

Up to $5,000 Sign-On Bonus

Eligible new hires may receive:

  • $3,500 standard sign-on bonus
  • Additional $1,500 for candidates who start within 30 days of offer acceptance

Up to $5,000 Relocation Assistance

Eligible candidates relocating from more than 50 miles away may qualify for relocation assistance.

Sign-on bonus requires a two-year commitment in a Medical Assistant role. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing an excellent customer experience in a team based environment while assisting in all aspects of medical practice under the direct supervision and responsibility of a physician or physician assistant. This position is responsible for patient safety, performing phlebotomy, point of care testing, assisting in minor procedures, processing lab specimens, safe operation of medical equipment, provides patient instructions, and for handling and administering medications according to regulatory standards and organizational policy and procedure under the direct supervision of a physician or physician assistant. This position is responsible for the collection, communication and documentation of accurate patient information/data and maintaining medical records according to regulatory standards and organizational policies and procedures. Other responsibilities include coordinating requests for information and prescriptions, maintain and preparing patient care areas to ensure efficient, effective and safe patient care delivery. Late hours, holidays and weekends may be required. Other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor of the department.

Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma or GED Required. Completion of a medical assisting program or postsecondary medical assisting program accredited to prepare the medical assistant to take national CMA (American Association of Medical Assisting), CCMA (National Health Career Association), or RMA (American Medical Technologists) medical assistant certification exam preferred.


Experience:

Medical Assistant experience preferred but not required for graduates within 2 years completion of a medical assisting program or postsecondary medical assisting program accredited to prepare the medical assistant to take the national CMA (American Association of Medical Assisting), CCMA (National Health Career Association), or RMA (American Medical Technologists).

1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a physicians office or hospital outpatient

department may be accepted in lieu of degree/diploma from accredited medical assisting

program.

License:

Not Required


Certifications:

CMA (American Association of Medical Assisting), CCMA (National Health career Association), RMA

(American Medical Technologists) preferred. BLS (American Heart Association / Basic

Life Support) required (must be obtained within first 90 days of hire).

Other:

Medical terminology, communication skills and basic knowledge of computers required.

Early/late hours and/or weekends may be required.
