π About the LPG Contact Center
The Lee Physician Group Contact Center serves as a critical connection between patients and healthcare providers. Team members assist patients with scheduling appointments, registration activities, and answering a variety of healthcare-related inquiries.
As a Student Intern, you'll gain hands-on exposure to:
- Customer service and patient communication
- Healthcare scheduling and registration processes
- Professional office operations
- Call center technology and workflow management
- Department projects and administrative support
You'll work alongside experienced professionals while learning how healthcare organizations deliver exceptional patient experiences.

Patient Access & Contact Center Support
- Assist with patient scheduling and registration activities
- Support inbound patient communication workflows
- Help document and record patient interactions accurately
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism
- Learn healthcare systems and operational processes
Administrative & Project Support
- Assist with general office and administrative duties
- Participate in department-specific projects and initiatives
- Support communications, events, and special assignments
- Collaborate with project teams and internal committees
- Gain exposure to healthcare business operations and process improvement initiatives
Professional Development
- Build workplace communication skills
- Learn healthcare industry best practices
- Network with leaders and team members across the organization
- Develop organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
π’ Work Environment
This is a fully onsite position located at the Orion Building in Fort Myers.
You can expect to:
- Work in a professional office setting
- Primarily work from a cubicle workstation
- Spend much of the day using a computer and dual monitors
- Answer and support customer calls
- Remain seated for extended periods
- Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

- Schedule adherence and attendance
- Call handling efficiency
- Accuracy and completion of post-call work
- Quality and professionalism during customer interactions

Please note:
- Attendance during training is extremely important
- Missing training days may delay progression
- New training classes begin every two weeks
- Training must be completed before working independently

π― Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree OR
- Graduated from an accredited university within the last year
Preferred Experience
- Experience with academic, volunteer, community service, or professional projects
- Customer service or community-focused experience preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, quality, service, and professionalism
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to type at least 30 words per minute
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
