Coordinate complex surgical procedures and provider schedules
Serve as a key liaison between patients, providers, hospitals, and surgical teams
Manage authorizations, documentation, and surgical workflow coordination
Ensure accuracy within Epic and electronic medical records
Support a high-performing specialty team dedicated to oncology patient care

Your coordination, attention to detail, and scheduling expertise help ensure oncology patients receive timely, seamless surgical care when they need it most.
The OR Scheduler position is the first point of contact with Lee Health for physician offices to Schedule any Surgical, Endoscopic, Endovascular Lab or other Interventional Radiology procedures; therefore, it requires excellent verbal and customer service skills. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology is also a requirement. Staff must have the ability to multitask by answering phones, collecting and verifying information, understanding and scheduling any Surgical or Endoscopic procedure(s) in Op Time from all Specialties for all Lee Health Surgical facilities. This position requires the ability to work in a fast paced sometimes stressful environment; must be organized and have the ability to prioritize, be extremely detail oriented to assure accuracy and remain flexible to provide exceptional customer experience. This job requires a person to be able to work independently and yet be a team player that supports efficient use of the available Surgery and Physician time and resources during prime time hours. Effective planning is essential to optimize the surgical experience for the patient, surgeon and staff. This position must be able to implement and follow standard processes that support clear and accurate communication to patients, families, physician and department staff to meet identified needs as this will improve quality, safety and productivity while decreasing the opportunity for adverse events. This position is not only responsible for effective scheduling, but also for coding, verifying insurance and/or obtaining necessary pre-certification/authorization for procedures. Thus, knowledge of basic insurance guidelines and authorization limitations is also part of this job.
Education:High School or equivalent required. Post high school training or college preferred.
Experience:Previous medical or surgical scheduling experience. Epic experience is preferred. Has the ability to demonstrate multitasking competencies.
