Description:

Under the general supervision of the director, the Clinical Transplant Coordinator II develops and uses advanced clinical management, consultation, education, and research to promote quality care for the transplant patient population; identifies learning needs and content for educational programs; develops, presents, coordinates and evaluates educational activities; participates in the education function for departmental initiatives in collaboration with the director and unit clinical educators; provides growth in clinical knowledge through research based practice with peers; provides educational leadership for professional nursing practice and fosters clinical development of staff on an on-going basis, including maintenance of staff competencies in collaboration with the nursing education staff and nursing management; provides appropriate clinical information/education to kidney transplant patients and families; participates with the Transplant Team to determine a transplant candidate suitability for transplantation by facilitating the evaluation process through the acquisition and assimilation of information and reports; manages offers for donor kidneys with the on-call transplant physicians; supports the organization vision and mission; and contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through excellence in customer service and performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Serves as a role model through conduct, communication, mutual respect, leadership, ethical decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Requirements:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing required. Master of Science in Nursing or in progress Experience: Minimum of 3 years of transplant experience. Training: License: Currently licensed RN licensure in the State of Florida; CCTC (Transplant Certification) Other: Attention to detail and effective communication and documentation with numerous physicians, organ procurement agencies, Operating Room (O.R.), Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Department (ED) staff, the patient and the patient’s family are required.
