PRN Laboratory Assistant

This is a PRN position - as needed. $12.88 per hour
Must be able to travel to all 10 locations throughout Lee County and Collier County including into Bonita Springs as needed to cover vacation days, sick days and extra coverage. Reliable transportation is required

Phlebotomy skills needed

Must be able to train full time for 4-6 weeks.
Work Schedule:
Various days including a weekend rotation.
Phlebotomy position, pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred

The Draw Station Laboratory Assistant I is responsible for the reception of Laboratory Outpatients. Reviews patient’s orders, insurance information and obtains authorizations as required to determine reimbursable services. Dispenses Patient Privacy Notices, Contracts and ABN notices, obtaining patient signatures as required. Performs initial quick registration of patients presenting to the draw station. Clinical responsibilities include the collection and processing of laboratory specimens for testing; the operation of lab equipment which includes but is not limited to centrifuges, glucose monitoring devices, refrigerators etc. Clerical duties include, but are not limited to, filing, sorting, scanning documents, phone reception, etc… in addition to basic computer skills in the Laboratory Information System.


Education: High School diploma or equivalent Experience: One year previous clerical or secretarial experience Training: Licensure: None required Other: Knowledge of basis office procedures including typing, alpha and numeric filing, telephone and communication skills. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. Must be able to accurately type a minimum of 25 works per minute. Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
