The Patient Access Scheduler is the first point of contact coordinating patient flow through Lee Physician Group and community primary care and specialty offices, as well as Lee Memorial Health System outpatient services. At the direction of the Emergency Department Provider they will facilitate follow up care for patients, prior to discharge from the Emergency Department. The Scheduler will work with other hospital departments when necessary to assist with patients access to care prior to discharge. They will be a patient advocate and coach and have strong organizational and communication skills. When requested they will be responsible for the daily practice/outpatient scheduling functions for the Emergency Department and other hospital units, utilizing their resources of 300+ providers and/or 1100 + procedures. This person will work with other members of the team to follow patients for continuity of care across the continuum. The Scheduler will practice the lean principles and embrace process improvement. They will exhibit and demonstrate these principles by attending the daily huddles, tracking process improvements, and communicating these to the management team. This position requires the ability to work in a fast paced sometimes stressful environment; must be organized and have the ability to prioritize, be extremely detail orientated to assure accuracy and remain flexible to provide exceptional customer experience. This job requires a person to be able to work independently and yet be a team player that supports the efficient use of department resources during prime hours. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to insure effective and desired patient outcomes.

Additional Requirements
