In addition to project management duties/expectations, the Epic HIM Team Lead will assume additional responsibilities. This position is responsible for collaborating with the Operational Departments to support all of the applications that support Health Information Management workflows, Coding & CDI workflows and Utilization/Case Management workflows from an Epic and Non-Epic application perspective. This will include, but is not limited to non Epic applications such as 3M Computer Assisted Coding/CDI (Encompass 360), Mckesson CERMe product, etc. The lead will be responsible for ensuring production support needs are met, optimizations are appropriately prioritized with the operational owners and that we are continuing to promote standardize design wherever possible. Structured and consistent communication forums will be established and Lee Health project management activities will be utilized. Take ownership and is accountable to lead a team in the implementation of assigned projects and/or support services to insure optimum quality design, timeliness, cost effectiveness, and supportability. The Epic HIM Team Lead is a working team member as well as the leader of the designated team of staff members. Leads, coaches, motivates and retains assigned staff, while promoting teamwork on assigned projects to achieve organizational expectations for the project/services. Accountable for the results and performance of the assigned team members as well as the overall team's accomplishments. Serves as a role model in the areas of work ethic, values, leadership, customer service and a genuine concern for patients and the community. Under the general guidance of their Manager, the Team Leader is responsible for formulating and managing the team which includes Recruiting and selection of team members Hiring, retention and termination of staff Supervision and leadership of assigned staff Mentoring, coaching and direction setting for team members Performing mid year and annual staff reviews.
- Bachelor's and/or at least 5 yrs of increasingly responsible experience.
- Minimum 5 years of HIM experience required
- Epic HIM certification/experience strongly desired
- 3M or OnBase experience preferred
- Leadership skills to lead and mentor team required
- HIM Certification is preferred (RHIT, RHIA, etc.)
- Previous experience successfully leading large scale projects
