The Clinical Educator II in the Emergency Department must meet the job requirements to be considered. The applicant must currently possess a MSN, preferably with an Education in Nursing focus. Candidates should have no less than 3 years experience in the Emergency Department to be seriously considered for the position.
The Clinical Educator shift varies; the Educator works primarily Mon- Fri, 8A-4:30P, but is expected to work occasionally on 3rd shift to review information and observe practice with the 3rd shift team. Additionally, the Clinical Educator II may be required to work on the weekend.
The Emergency Department Educator responsibilities include: facilitating the development of clinical excellence through active participation in campus/unit based orientation// training// on-going staff development. Designs// organizes// implements// and evaluates educational programs that facilitate the professional growth// skill development// initial/ongoing competence// and attainment of standards of care for direct care providers for the ED. Education programs will be developed// implemented// and evaluated using nursing theory// nursing clinical expertise// standards of practice// and adult education principles. Actively participates and collaborates in multi-disciplinary unit// campus and system wide performance improvement teams to enhance patient safety// satisfaction// staff competence// and standards of care.
