Description:

Effectively manages accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate payment. Completes verification of insurance benefits and eligibility, obtains authorizations, and financial screening of all referrals to secure maximum reimbursement for services. Analyzes managed care, commercial insurance, and private pay payments and determines accuracy of payment. Posts payments received from all payor sources. Calculates and completes contractual adjustments as necessary. Identifies and resolves credit balance accounts. Submits timely, accurate and well-coded bills to insurance and private pay patients. Completes all phases of follow-up and collection action on account balances. Prepares and posts daily deposits to appropriate cash journals. Sorts, stamps and distributes incoming mail to appropriate areas. Accurately maintains monthly statistical reports and spreadsheets.

Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: Minimum of 6 months related clerical experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Training: On the job training provided License: N/A Other: Communication and interpersonal skills required. Excellent customer service skills, ability to problem solve, ability to work independently and operate office equipment (phone, fax, and copier). Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel. Medical terminology.
