The Medical Informatics Advance Application Analyst job role is to serve as an interface for Lee Health Providers and Information Systems. This position will collaborate with Lee Health Leadership, Medical Staff Leaders, and Med Staff Services. The analyst will serve as a source of knowledge and support to empower providers to leverage the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) for an optimized provider experience. Analyst serves as a subject matter expert on assigned project teams and department initiatives, develops test scripts, conducts testing, training, supports application upgrades, project go lives, optimization request and general support. Analyst has an understanding of project management techniques. Additionally, the Analyst utilizes advanced application and analytic skills to design, build and test solutions to meet the needs of the organization. Support is not limited to the Epic EHR and could include any IT system that touches the patient care provider.

In addition:

  • The analyst would be expected to own the request from the providers, collaborate with the IT application build teams to provide input and feedback on any enhancements, Epic build and troubleshooting.
  • The analyst will combine their clinical and workflow knowledge of the Acute Care setting with a high level understanding of the Epic EHR and other relevant clinical IT systems to provide on-going optimal support.
  • The analyst will serve as a champion of the EHR using Medical Informatics metrics and patient care tools to demonstrate meaningful use of the electronic health record by the medical staff individual.
  • The analyst should carryout exceptional professionalism, customer service, communication and relationship building skills. This position requires good listening skills, strong analytical skills with the ability to recognize and solve more complex problems and respond accordingly. Must be able to critically think and work independently with general supervision. Serves as a collaborative team member in the areas of work ethic, values, and customer service while demonstrating genuine concern for patients and the community. Develops and maintains effective relationships and communications with leaders, technical/application teams and external customers. Assumes other duties as assigned.


    1.Clinical Licensure preferred but not required

    2.5 years of IT and/or Epic use related experience

    3.Ability to actively engage metrics related to provider use of Epic

    4.Ability to pass the Epic Inpatient proficiency exam within the first evaluation period

    5.Proficiency or desire to become proficient in Microsoft Office tools
