LPG Adolescent Medicine Physician
Fort Myers, FL
Department: GCHSWF Peds Adolescent Medicine
Shift: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida is seeking to add Adolescent Medicine to their complement of children's services offered to our families. Adolescent medicine, one of three age-related specialties (the others are Neonatology and Gerontology), cares for adolescents (generally ages 10-24) and their special needs as they mature to adults. Services provided by Adolescent Medicine focus on a myriad of issues that teens are challenged with: eating disorders, pubescence, sexual and reproductive health, self-inflicted injuries, violence, abuse, substance abuse, and sexually-transmitted infections, and even some non-surgical sports medicine services.
This physician would offer these services in a hybrid model (inpatient/outpatient) and programmatic development based on the needs in our area. An Adolescent Medicine Specialist must complete a residency in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, or Family Practice with an additional 3-year Adolescent Medicine Fellowship program.
