Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$31.76 - $39.70 / hour
Responsible for overseeing the technical and regulatory functions related to Transfusion Services within an acute care facility. Coordinates activities of the technical staff in the Transfusion department and allocates available resources to ensure efficient and effective operations. Works closely with laboratory leadership in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for transfusion services. Develops and coordinates training programs and ensures competence of staff. Develops and implements quality control programs to ensure reliability of testing procedures, proper function of equipment and compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. Monitors quality control and quality indicators. Acts as technical resource for laboratory and nursing staff for transfusion testing. Identifies opportunities for performance improvement and cost containment. Performs clinical laboratory testing for all patient types in a timely, efficient and accurate manner. Promotes excellent customer service and interacts courteously with providers, nurses and other customers as a representative of the laboratory.
